Game Review: Dead By Daylight! Battle of The Capes 2

Deep in the woods of what would be a a nightmare for many, The Random Dude Josh wreaks havoc on Al Mega on this special streaming event where the guys show up the new game, Dead by Daylight. Developed by Behavior Interactive and published by Starbreeze Studios, comes a game that will do one of two things to you: Scare the living daylights out of you as you try to survive; Or scare the living daylights out of you when you realize what a true psychopath you really are. That was sure the case for this game.

Initial reviews of the game:

Smooth gameplay, easy to pick up controls, gorgeous environments that truly immerse you in the dark and dismal world. The game is simple; you have generators that you need to repair in order to escape the hell hole you’re stuck in. As the killer, not only is your goal to stop the survivors from escaping, rather the true fun nature of the game is torturing the survivors that they start making silly mistakes to give away their position and kill them all.

Dead by Daylight truly is a team game if you’re going to want to survive. You need to communicate with your teammates and hope and pray that nobody is a n00b and acts like leroy jenkins and runs into the game sprinting all over the damn place. That my friends is a sure and quick way to get you killed.

The couple aspects that I personally wish the game would of had would include more of an interactive tutorial, just to give you the basics of the game itself. A challenge mode that gives you tasks to achieve during an AI generated game that you have to complete before the killer gets to you. This would be good especially as players get a feel for the game, that they can be tested before being thrown into the abyss like a worthless sack of potatoes. This is definitely not the game to necessarily play with just one other person, although I will admit it was rather glorious to torture Al Mega around the map and let him think he had a chance when I was just buying my time.

Yes there was plenty of trash talk then, and plenty of trash talk now that the Battle of the Capes 2 has ended. At the end of the day, I would definitely give this game a 4 out of 5 stars. The addition of the tutorial and even the challenge mode would, in my opinion make it a 5 star game in my book. However, don’t let my criticism sway you away from the game as it truly is a lot of fun. A lot more entertaining I thought than Friday the 13th.

Check out the gameplay stream featuring Al Mega and myself.

For some additional laughs, I took on my step-son in the game, and we had a blast. Enjoy
